Brother hasn't made a driver package available for it since Vista. I don't recall its exact vintage, but it's old enough to have both parallel port and USB inputs. Majority of people are now going with Laser Printers, because they have fallen so low in price, that they are worth buying over Inkjets. There is no way for them to even install it, nor will HP have anything to tell them, because their Customer Service Rep's are over in India and all they are are Script readers. The OP will never be able to get anywhere on the suggestions that you gave, because his printer is no longer supported by HP. I wrote the earlier post when I was away from a Win 10 machine. Your Photosmart 385 must be a USB device. (One type is for the old parallel port.) I think that must be there by mistake. The IEEE 1284.4 is a Centronics printer interface.
